Against Giants Labor Advocates was founded by two TSA veterans who spent decades advocating for officers at the frontlines of airport security. We understand how federal employees can face complex bureaucracies, unfair discipline, discrimination, and retaliation—challenges that require experienced, dedicated advocates.
We started Against Giants because TSA officers deserve professional advocacy services from people who know the system inside and out, who've walked in your shoes, and who bring the same intensity and expertise we demonstrated while representing 500+ employees across seven Virginia airports.
Our name says it all: we help individuals stand against institutional giants. Like David facing Goliath, we believe that with the right strategy, experience, and commitment, one person can prevail against overwhelming odds.
Co-Founder & Lead Advocate
Scott brings over 20 years of TSA experience and more than a decade of labor advocacy leadership to Against Giants. As President of AFGE Local 448, he represented over 500 TSA employees across seven Virginia airports, achieving over 525% growth in membership and a 70% reduction in employee grievances.
Scott's advocacy work has been featured in national media including CNBC, BBC, NPR, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. He led crisis response during the 2019 government shutdown, organizing food distribution for unpaid federal workers and securing bipartisan congressional support for TSA employee protections.
His deep understanding of TSA operations, federal employment law, and the challenges facing airport security officers drives his commitment to providing professional advocacy services to federal employees who deserve better representation.
Co-Founder & Chief Advocate
Sherry brings extensive frontline advocacy experience as a former Chief Steward, where she specialized in grievance representation, disciplinary proceedings, and EEOC complaint support. A Navy veteran and woman of color, Sherry's military service and diverse background bring unique perspective and credibility to Against Giants' advocacy work.
Her hands-on approach and deep knowledge of TSA policies made her one of the most trusted advocates among officers facing workplace challenges. Known for her meticulous case preparation and strategic thinking, Sherry successfully represented dozens of employees in complex disciplinary matters, helping them navigate investigations, appeals, and discrimination complaints with professionalism and expertise.
Sherry's commitment to worker advocacy stems from her belief that every federal employee deserves competent, dedicated representation regardless of their circumstances or the power of the institutions they face. As a Navy veteran and woman of color, she understands firsthand the importance of standing up against institutional barriers.
After over a decade of workplace advocacy leadership, we recognized that federal employees sometimes need alternatives when their primary representation isn't available or doesn't meet their specific needs. Our experience showed us that TSA officers deserve advocates who are immediately responsive, deeply knowledgeable about airport operations, and personally invested in their success.
